Full job description

We are seeking an experienced, independent Site Manager to lead the first phase of a hotel estate redevelopment, starting with the conversion of an existing house into a dedicated wedding and function venue.

This initial project involves a high-quality refurbishment and conversion of a house within the grounds of a live hospitality environment, requiring strong coordination of multiple trades, attention to detail, and sensitivity to guest-facing operations.

Future phases (including leisure/spa works) may follow, subject to successful delivery of the initial phase.

Salary / Package: Competitive, dependent on experience

Phase One – Scope of Works

• Conversion of an existing house into a private wedding / function venue
• Refurbishment works including internal reconfiguration and finishes
• Creation of bridal preparation spaces and guest accommodation
• External works and coordination with estate operations
• Programme-led delivery with strong quality control

Key Responsibilities

• Full day-to-day site management of the Mac’s House conversion
• Programming and coordination of multiple trades and suppliers
• Managing direct labour and subcontractors
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to specification
• Liaising closely with the client team and consultants
• Managing works within a live hotel environment with minimal disruption
• Maintaining high standards appropriate to a premium hospitality setting
• Health & safety management, site records and compliance
• Regular reporting on progress, risks and sequencing

Essential Experience & Requirements

• Proven experience delivering refurbishment and conversion projects
• Strong background managing direct labour and multiple trades
• Experience operating without a main contractor structure
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Practical, problem-solving approach with attention to finish and detail
• SMSTS qualification (essential)
• Valid CSCS card (essential)
